North West Department of Education initiates innovative tablet project

The North West Department of Education contracted the hardware vendor, MIB in order to equip seventy schools in the province with banks of android tablets and the Train your Brain portal, a repository of digital educational content that is aligned to the national curriculum.

SchoolNet was commissioned to provide master training for the project’s facilitators, in order to develop capacity predominantly among district officials. This took place from 29 September until 4 October 2013 at Boshdal Lodge in Rustenburg and the training was expertly conducted by Maggie Verster. The long term objective was for these master trainer officials from the North West province to subsequently training teachers and provide ongoing support within these seventy North West schools.
